5 Reasons Men Should Have Their Own Place

Men, you’re not in college anymore. It’s time to graduate from the frat-house mentality of living with your buddies and move on to bigger and better things. You may not see the benefits of living on your own yet, so I’m here to give you a little female perspective…

HAVING YOUR OWN PLACE SHOWS YOU’RE INDEPENDENT
Being financially stable and self-sufficient is huge for us gals. It’s nice knowing a guy is responsible and doesn’t Venmo his roommate for all the bills each month or share milk that has probably never been poured into an actual cup. It also shows you are capable of being alone and doing things on your own – no stage-five clingers please. Knowing a man is independent and financially smart shows a sense of maturity and is a huge turn on for most women.

HAVING YOUR OWN PLACE COMMUNICATES YOU’RE PAST THE COLLEGE MENTALITY
There is nothing more repellant than guys who live together in a sloppy, stale-beer scented home with game consoles everywhere, Good Will couches you’re scared to even sit on, an empty fridge, and leftover pizza from the previous weekend still lying out. I mean, I’ve never encountered a group of guys who lived together in a clean, sterile, decently decorated home (and I’m not talking about a neon sign or a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit poster on the wall). I’m sure you fellas are out there, and feel free to send proof if this offends you, but just know y’all are unicorns.

HAVING YOUR OWN PLACE GIVES YOU PRIVACY
I mean, think about it – no girl wants to tip-toe around someone’s roommate or worry about anyone walking in when having spontaneous sex in the living room. So awkward. Or what if I’m on a date and the guy asks if I want to hang out more at his place, but we walk in only to find his roommate playing Fortnite in the living room insulting 11-year-olds through his headset. BOOM – mood killer. Having your own place makes us as women feel more comfortable and the necessary privacy can lead to a different level of intimacy (and I’m not just talking about sex).

HAVING YOUR OWN PLACE GIVES YOU OPTIONS
During the dating phase, it’s nice to be able to choose whose place you want to hang out at, not choose one by default because it’s the only way you can hang out without interruptions. Or for those of you guys who like to go out and meet women on the weekends, you don’t have to worry about her place or yours, because you know exactly what to expect when you return to your place.

HAVING YOUR OWN PLACE MAKES YOU MORE ATTRACTIVE
If you haven’t gathered this yet, living alone is more attractive to women. Whether you’re a guy who is ready to settle down with that special someone, or you are still playing the field, living alone sets you apart from the others. One of the first questions most women as is, “Who do you live with?” Why do we ask this you wonder? Because a man’s living situation says a lot about him! No matter what job you have, living alone automatically communicates a sense of maturity and attractiveness most women are seeking.
