There’s lots going on in the Bayou City this Labor Day Weekend. Make the most of of your 3-day weekend (if you have it!) with these Houston happenings:
If you’re in the loop tonight, there’s a Midtown Wine Down in Bagby Park for free! Music by DJ Sun and happy hour specials on food and drinks from Rico’s Morning Noon Night. 5pm to 8pm.
If you’re near The Woodlands, The Houston Symphony is performing a Rolling Stones themed concert at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. Select seats are free. Starts at 8pm.
Saturday, Houston Coffee and Cars will be at Memorial City Mall. With over 1300 spaces for cars, you’re sure to see some of the rarest, most expensive cars in the world. Free. 8-10am.
And if you’re a UH fan, the Coogs kick off college football with a matchup against Oklahoma. The game begins at 11am, but the Bud Light FanFest begins at 7am. For information call 832-667-2390 or visit advocaretexaskickoff.com. $45 to $170.
If you can’t make it to the game and prefer something a little more family friendly, there’s Viva Venezuela in Katy. Soak in Venezuelan culture through music and food during this all day festival at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center. $15. Noon to 10pm.
Sunday is Houston Texans Fan Fest at CityCentre. This free family-oriented event celebrates the upcoming Texans season with food, music, giveaways, and appearances by the Texans cheerleaders, TORO, and the Battle Ready Band. City Centre. 1-3pm. Free.
And if on Monday you’ve still got it in you, there’s a Labor Day Rose’ party at Brasserie 19 complete with BBQ on the patio. Free to attend. 2pm-9pm. (We understand if you choose to stay in bed instead.)
