Are you looking to escape the rain and get out of the house this weekend? The weather is forecasted to be a bit wet, but there’s still plenty happening in the Bayou City. Here’s an overlook of your Houston weekend.
Houston Restaurant Week is still happening!
Have you participated yet? If not, dine out for a good cause during this annual city-wide fundraiser for the Houston Food Bank. Restaurants all over Houston (suburbs included!) will be offering prix fixe menus for brunch, lunch, and dinner. Times, prices and locations vary- it’s best to call ahead.
Andy Warhol’s Sunset film exhibition is premiering all weekend at The Menil Collection.
The Menil is Houston’s largest privately owned art collection, and if you haven’t been, you should go! This weekend, for free, you can catch the restored film (and lots of other great art) from 11am-7pm. The film captures sunsets from coast to coast – how perfect for a rainy day?
There’s a Dine-In Movie at Bellaire’s Town Pool.
Have kids? This may be ideal for them! Tonight, (weather permitting) for $15, they can watch Finding Nemo while lounging in the pool and noshing on food and drinks. Starts at 7:30pm.
And a Food Truck Festivus in La Porte.
Dine-in movies not your thing? If you’re around the La Porte area tonight, local vendors will be out with their trucks from 5pm-9pm.
Saturday is Volunteer Day at Buffalo Bayou Park!
From 8:30am-11:30am anyone and everyone is welcome to volunteer their time (and bring a pair of gloves!) by helping Buffalo Bayou Partnership beautify the park.
There’s a Pre-Season Texans Game at NRG Saturday.
Ready to introduce NFL football back into your life? For $37, you can watch the pre-season opener vs. The New Orleans Saints at 7pm.
We hope you have a great weekend! For more fun happenings and for more information about anything listed above, visit http://365thingsinhouston.com.
